You can use a Rock Tumbler to help with that. Be prepared it's rather noisy when it's in operation.

A can of spray polyurethane. I took found rocks and got out my acrylic white paint. Once the rock was dry, I used alcohol ink to have a little fun. I just used the spray poly to set the ink and give an ever lasting shine. So, I bet it would work in unpainted rocks as well. a bottle of clear fingernail polish can be more than a can of poly.

I've used clear acrylic sealer in a gloss finish. Great results. Really brings out the beauty of the rocks (wet the rock to see the same outcome; dry completely before using spray). I bought the can at Michael's.

You could try a dab of petroleum jelly or baby oil and rub it on with your finger tips. A little bit should work to give the stones a sheen

I have sprayed hundreds and hundreds of rocks with spray gloss from Krylon or any good paint.

I spray too, Krylon is my Fav but I went to the Auto Store and bought a can of laccer and I will try that soon. Spray is only as good as the amount of weather they are exposed to. If you put the rocks outside be prepared to respray sometime.
