William on Apr 09, 2024I make sachets with essential oils and rice for the closet. I make a spray with essential oils and vodka for furniture, carpets. Mix essential oils and baking soda for refreshing carpets. I use fabric softener sheets under the seats in the car. I'll have to try the essential oil on fake plants, the newspaper in the fridge. Great share.

Carla Jones on Apr 11, 2024Wouldn't the vodka mess up the furniture fabric? I have dogs and sometimes they try to lick the furniture, and I really don't need a drunk husky or toy Australian shepherd running around, so I try to keep them covered, but they sometimes like to make a puffy bed with the blanket or towels which is what I used to cover my furniture.

Tambra A Golden-Haidon on Apr 15, 2024Hi Carla, most fabric cleaners suggest testing in a hidden spot before using. Like the back of the couch, or on a bottom piece in the back, that is near the floor. As far as the vodka goes for the dogs, not sure if you were joking about that or not, but the alcohol itself should dissipate rather quickly as it dries. There is an article in Better Homes and Gardens if you would like to read about it here: https://www.bhg.com/homekeeping/house-cleaning/tips/surprising-things-to-clean-with-vodka-281474979485474/

Jacqueline | Home_Reimagined on Apr 16, 2024Thanks for sharing the article, Tambra! It's always a good idea to test any cleaning solution in a hidden spot first, especially with pets around. Safety first!
