Chalkboard Painted Pots

Pots painted with chalkboard paint can be labeled with the plant occupant and can also become a decorative work of art. This is a simple project that would also make a great gift.

A before and after of a great paver patio project

This small backyard on Portland's west side was a hot mess! Now the homeowner has a beautiful paver patio making the space truly inviting. The potted bamboo will provide privacy while meeting the desire for a low care landscape.

Old Fence Turned Into a Headboard

Last summer I found a free listing on Craigslist for a torn down fence. I snagged it and have used it for a TON of projects. I had the upholstered headboard piece, but it just needed a ...»
little something. It took me only one evening to chop up the old boards and install them to frame out the upholstered piece.

  • The garden gate was made from pallets too. The arbor was made from my childrens' old sandbox. We cut the large boards down to build the arbor.
  • The fence is almost finished.
  • Here is a picture taken from my bench at the back of the garden looking towards the arbor. The fence is complete. Now on to making the garden look pretty. This will take awhile. 1

Re-purposing pallets

This is a fence I made for my garden using pallets and old pickets from a fence that had been torn down. When I ran out of the old pickets, I used pallet boards and cut them to match the ...»
pickets so I could complete the project. My fenced area is 30' X 40' and I still had pallets left over for other projects.
