Canning Lid Ring Pumpkin With a Text Twist

I love canning lid ring pumpkins but I wanted one a little different than traditional orange....
This fun twist on Halloween decor is fun and eco-friendly. I used a log, string, a discarded book, canning lid rings, glue , paint, and some moss.
I spray painted some rings I bought at a flea market white and cream colored. For some things I learned, be sure to click on the full blog post:http://www.artisticendeavor101.blogspot.com/2015/08/workbench-wednesday-canning-lid-ring.html
After painting the rings, I cut discarded book pages into strips and hot glued them to each ring. This took a lot of time. Each ring required 2 1/2 strips. You could use a larger book or cut your text strips the long direction from the pages. I wanted the text to show and be readable.
After gluing the strips on 25 rings, I ran a piece of string through all the rings and tied them so the rings fanned out in a circle. I then cut a piece of a log and hot glued it to the top. I tucked some Spanish moss in while the glue was still hot to cover. I also flipped it over and stuffed a little moss inside the rings to cover the bottom of the log and give it a finished look.
I love ow it turned out. Easy but not super fast. You can do several in a day. Click on the blog post for more information and photos.http://www.artisticendeavor101.blogspot.com/2015/08/workbench-wednesday-canning-lid-ring.html
