Updating The Old Shed

by Trey Morgan
My wife wanted to update our old metal shed for a long time. We made a plan to go with a "red barn" look. We added paint, an old window, a flower box, fake hinges we found at Home Depot and did a little landscaping. We like how it turned out.
The finished product. Fresh red paint, an old window, a flower box, solar lanterns, fake hinges and a little landscaping.
The old medal shed that my wife hated looking at in our backyard.

I see that you regular roofing shingles on your metal shed. Do you put these shingles on yourself? And - has it made a difference in the shed - is it hotter, damper, dryer, etc? Thanks!

I saw the original picture showed some rust on the front corners of the shed and the roof is different. How did you add to the corner? Some sort of metal siding piece and did you add roofing shingles? Was that difficult?

What kind of paint did you use? Did you use a sprayer? Would love more info on the painting process!

@Theresa Krieger I simply used a paint for metal and a big paint brush. I started with a roller, but realized the big brush covered better. You must make sure it's good and clean before painting ... AND if there is any rust, prime it with a good primer. It wasn't too tough. You can do it.
