DIY Upholstered Kids' Chair

Sometimes certain pieces of kids' furniture can just be obnoxious looking. This "SPORT" chair definitely fell into that category. Don't be worried though, I banished the ugly with some gorgeous Black and White fabric!
I never figured out why it just says "SPORT" but has multiple sport balls on the seat?! Anyway, this little chair was given to my 5 year old by a friend who was moving and of course, she was happy about it. Kids like stuff, even when it's not cute.

See, it's beautiful now isn't it?!
I took the little back cushion and little seat cushion off by removing a couple of screws from the frame. Easy peasy!

Then I spray painted the frame with my favorite gold paint and let that dry for a few hours.

I then placed the cushion on top of my fabric and cut it to size. I didn't even remove any of the old plastic cushion covering. I used a heavy duty staple gun to staple the fabric right to the wood underneath each piece. Then I trimmed any excess fabric and screwed the cushions back onto the frame.

I think it's an amazing transformation!! And of course the chair now matches her fabric wall, since it's the same fabric! MY 5 year old is loving all of the changes to her new bedroom. Hop over to Houseologie to read all about it, to see the finished results and many more great home projects.
