Easy End Cap for Stacked Crown Moulding

5 Minutes
Easy
It's not often that a project is so simple I want to kick myself for not thinking of it sooner. This is one of those projects. After putting up 5 layer stacked crown in my bathroom I ran into a snag - the wall with the shower. Since the new shower went all the way to the ceiling, I needed to finish off the edges of the crown. Normally I would do a hanging return but it wasn't working on this project. Luckily a five minute fix was the perfect solution. And the best part? It didn't cost a dime.
Trace the edge on a piece of 1/4" plywood. Cut the shape using a jigsaw.
Dry fit the piece to ensure it fits. If it does attach using either wood glue (using tape to hold it in place for 24 hours) or brad nails (which is what I used).
If you don't want wood grain in the edge, cover the end cap in spackling, allow it to dry and sand it.
Caulk, prime and paint and that's it!
