Broken and missing bathroom grout...

I have a small section of grout that recently broke out of my bathroom floor. Sorry for the picture quality...I'm not too good with my phone :-) Do I need to take all the grout out or can I do a spot repair? Why type of grouting material should I get? Any input is helpful! Thanks!

Honestly I do not recommend trying to regrout that one area, I don not think you will be able to match the grout. You also have to know if the grout is sanded or not. After some time the grout will fade etc. from washing .Trying to patch the area up may look worse.

they make grout caulk if you can find the name of the color of the grout you originally used, or try to match it up.

Thanks Becky! I might just try that route. It seems kind of crazy to take all the grout out of the floor!

I did do mine I first took my small grinder and got all well most of the old grout out. Then I did grouted again. Been lots of years. Heavy traffic area still looks great. I think the key thing here was the prep work pryor.

@Gwenie Thanks - I did not think of using a grinder to get the old old grout of my counter tops in my ancient rental house. I also need to clean the floor grout - any ideas for that?

Gwenie has it right. You can make it look great again.

Unless you have left over grout mix from when the floor was done, your not going to be able to match the grout color. T he best thing to do is to remove and replace all of the grout on the floor, and make sure to keep some of the grout mix, so if you need to make a future repair.

They have a special tool you can use to dig most of the grout out. We also used a grinder to remove ours. It doesn't look hard to match.
