The Stevens clamp

Anyone know what these are used for? The screw part is about 5" long, the clamp faces about an inch wide. We have about 20.

    These sre used for clamping the bodies of violins and mandolins when making repairs.

      @Robin Stein Terrific, thanks. How funny - my husband has just started repairing ukuleles and guitars for his uke group - he saw them at a garage sale, didn't know what they were, but thought they looked useful.

    These are clamps used in wood working. They are used to hold two pieces of wood together during construction.
