Seasonal Pillows for Under $5

I'm such a pillow hoarder! When it comes to seasonal décor, the first thing I want to change are the pillows! If I had the time, I would probably make 10 new seasonal pillows every season. However....time and money are limitations, and I can't create time, but I have learned how to make pillows on the cheap!
.1 Only use fun fabric on the front.

These new black and white buffalo check pillows are my seasonal switch outs for fall. Notice I only put the check on the front because it was $12/yr on sale!!! Who wants to pay that for the back of a pillow when no one really sees the back. I used black polyester from a yard sale for the back...and I ended up making three pillows out of the 5/8 yr of fabric I purchased.
2. Use pillow inserts you already have.

These velvet, plush amber colored pillows are the switchouts I made for last fall. I found the down pillow inserts at a yard sale years ago and the vintage fabric at a different yard sale. All together each pillow cost me under $5. I included a link for a envelope pillow cover on the blog.
3. Use things you already have for material.

I used a textured rug to make this pillow out of. There is actually some really bad floral pattern on the inside. Towels, rugs, and even clothes are wonderful things to repurpose for new pillows!
