Put a bowl of white vinegar on the counter.Make sure there is no fruit around. If you have plants in your home check to see the flies are not in them.

Easiest way to rid your home of fruit flies: 1. Jar 2. Vinegar (enough for about a half inch to an inch at the bottom of the jar. 3. A small piece of very ripe fruit placed in the vinegar at the bottom of the jar. 3. Piece of paper shaped into a cone. Place it in the jar with the same part down. The fruit flies will fly in and never come out. You can also get rid of them unfiltered apple cider vinegar by securing a bit of plastic wrap over the top of bottle with a rubber band. Poke a very small hole in the plastic at the opening of the bottle.

Remove fruit and place in refrigerator. Take a pint size jar, and put in about 1" of vinegar, add 2 drops of Dawn dishwashing soap, and then 2-3" of hot water from the tap. Cover top with plastic wrap, secure with a rubber band, and poke a few small holes in the top with a sharp tined fork. Set 1 or 2 around the kitchen, and change the solution in about 3 days. You will be emptying out quite a few of the little buggers, and repeat one more time. That should get the end of them.
