Trying to decide how to refinish this gossip chair. Any ideas?

Janet Pizaro on Sep 28, 2015If you are planning to leave the chair against the wall I would refinish it. If its is going to be placed in a different location than that will depend on the rest of the furnishings.Helpful Reply

Z on Sep 28, 2015I think it looks awesome just the way it is, especially with the neat window name art above it. Depending on its condition, I bet the most you'd have to use on it was some Howard's Restor A Finish in the color closest to it's current finish. It's almost as easy as giving it a good cleaning.Helpful Reply

Angel on Sep 29, 2015I personally would restore/refinish rather than paint it. It looks like it's still in good enough condition, and even the prettiest shade of paint can't hold a candle to the natural beauty of wood grain, at least in my opinion. Whatever you decide, good luck, and congrats on such a nice find.Helpful Reply

Christine King on Sep 29, 2015I agree I hate to paint something that is in good condition, maybe just give it a light sand and put some poly on it to protect it.Helpful Reply

Grandmasue10 on Sep 29, 2015I saw something years ago (probably B-4 Facebook) You can put furniture out in the sun to bleach it. Ya' have to watch the weather. Here in Colorado we went about 28 days without rain. We love our blue skies, but need rain, too!Helpful Reply

Anne fenske on Oct 05, 2015It's a great piece, but the lamp is too tall, it make the table look squat with the large pic above. Love the pic there by the way; awesome. Make the table yours. They we're made for convenience and comfort. Upholster the back over v boards not whole back and make tie on cushions to match. Take your colors from the picture;ex: green leaves, white or cream, bold flowers if u like. Like a said go with your gut its old and beautiful. Luck!Helpful Reply
