5 Minute Pumpkin Centerpieces

A pie pumpkin, a pot of mums and some dollar store leaves are all you need to make this cute pumpkin centerpiece.
Got five minutes? You can make this pumpkin centrepiece that will add some fall love to your lunch table, a guest room or make a bunch for that "big dinner".
Start with a 5-6" pie pumpkin. Get fussy - you want a nice round even unblemished pumpkin as it's the focal point of this arrangement.
I used pre-planted mums in a 4" pot. Remove the mums and discard the pot. Now plant the mums into the pumpkin, soil and all. Pack it down as much as you can and water thoroughly. Don't worry about the water seeping out. The pumpkin will absorb the water like a piece of oasis in a regular arrangement.
Now the fun part! Cut apart a spray of leaves from the dollar store and tuck them into the base of the mums. Add a couple in the centre for impact. If you're lucky enough to have gorgeous fall leaves around, use those for a more natural look.
I had to make four for an event. Because these were inexpensive to make, fast and simple, these pumpkin centerpieces were the perfect thing for making in quantity.

Kyn on Oct 07, 2015Heather, I had a young friend in MD who did the same type of thing. She used a small pumpkin for a small side table but a large Gourd for the main table. They where stunning.
