Can I add a fireplace/heater that was made for the wall to a tv stand?

I have a large wall hanging fireplace/electric heater that I was thinking of installing into the bottom of a large TV stand. If it fits into the bottom is it safe to install with proper back and front clearance?

If the outside of the heater is cool to the touch,I dont see any reason why you could not do that.

I agree with Janet, but to be on the safe side, and that's always a good idea in situations like this, call the manufacturer and ask. If you can't get a hold of them and there's any doubt, at all, don't do it. You and your family members lives are worth more than a neat looking fireplace TV stand combo, which I'm sure is why you asked before going ahead with the project.

You can buy fireplace/TV stands at places like Big Lots. If you're making a stand around a fireplace, I'd use fire proof materials (Cement board, etc.) Call the manufacturer first before you do anything. We have a propane heater on our wall, where we could insert it into an existing fireplace, we would never build it in. (We live out in the country. It's used in power outages. It's easier to use and maintain then a wood stove.)
