Repurpose round kitchen table

I have a round kitchen table. The top attaches to a pedastal base. I would like to add some height to make it the same height as a bar to use with bar stools. Any unique ideas. The round top comes off to a square piece of wood and then the pedastal wooden claw feet. Any suggestions?

Make a 2' x 2' (square) box and make it the height in inches you need. Leave one side open for storing cards, cribbage board, or any games you may have. Remove table top and attach square box. Place on pedestal and attach. Paint or stain to match pedestal. depending on the size of your table you may have to adjust box size to allow for leg room. Hope this helps!

I was going to suggest something similar. I was thinking making the storage for wine bottles or cook books.

Denise, if you take a shot of the top of the pedestal, I can walk you through how to heighten the table. Most that I have see are hollow at the top. If yours is, I think the best way would be to add a post inside there. I also need to know the diameter of the inside opening.
