Anyway to download software to get a TV working???

I have a Samsung TV, Model No LN46A630M1F A that was recently repaired but am unable to download software to get the TV up and running. Any suggestions to obtain software?

Would work if we could download software...Samsung does not make available. Help?

Your remote control should be able to help you. Go into settings find auto tune channel lineup and use that. It should be able to help. If not use your make, model and year of tv on google and it may take you right to the solution!!! I hope this is a good start, but, please remember I am a dinosaur with stuff and a Cable TV gentleman was kind enough to let me in on this wee secret because it costs wayyy too much money for my budget to have taken it in to a pro!!!!

Call your repair guy back. If you paid to have it repaired, then they should have made sure it was working properly before leaving your home or allowing you to take it home if you took it to a shop.

Thanks Linda, the repairman ( a friend) replaced the defective part at no charge based on what the Samsung man said when he came out to initially diagnose the problem (which he said was not the problem covered under the class action lawsuit). We did not have the Samsung repairman do the work as his rates were astronomical. Since our repairman was not an authorized Samsung repairman, they are not releasing the software. I was just hoping someone had a go around and I'll try your suggestions. I think if you bought the TV you should be entitled to download the software if needed but not so. Appreciate your help.

Becky, can't fault the repairman...he was trying to help based on the diagnosis a Samsung repairman gave.(the Samsong man came out on a complimentary visit because the problem was supposedly covered under a class action lawsuit but he said that our problem was different) Based on what the Samsung man said, the other repairman replaced the part and was surprised he couldn't get the software released. He didn't charge us. Shame the way things work.

  @Thank you for the rest of the story Karen. Between what you wrote to me and to Linda, I can see where Samsung is coming from. I don't agree with it, but big companies are terrible about holding onto what are they consider their right. In doing so they often "pooh in their own nests" so to speak as it only hurts their reputation. I have a few suggestions, the first you may very well have already done. 1. Go through the manual as if you just got the TV and are setting it up. 2. Contact Samsung again, telling them if they don't release the software to you that you'll contact your closest TV station consumer help line and get them involved. 3. If the TV station won't take it on then go to social media. You've already added it here, share it on fb, twitter and the like. Don't bash Samsung, but make sure to state exactly what happened as you did in your comments to Linda and myself. The more details you give the better. As you can see what happens when you don't how I thought it was the repair mans fault. Good luck! Oh and check Youtube. I would, but not knowing all the details I quite possibly would just be wasting time. I did a quick search and there were quite a few videos about Samsung TV.   Wanted to share w you...spent almost 2 hrs trying to chat online...couldn't access chat ref #. Ended up calling and they couldn't track chat reference either but tried hard to be helpful w no good results. Afterwards utubed and, since we faced pitching Tv, we opened it up via utube instr. And followed suggestion to check for loose "ribbons". Unbelievably we found two "ribbons" which had not been reconnected in repair process and our Tv is not working fine. WE ARE AMAZED,

  @Yay! Woo Hoo! Whoopy! Rah, rah, rah! I'm doing a happy dance for you Karen. I never would have thought about that. Had my hubby or son been home, they might have. Though they don't work with TVs they both are in IT, as is our daughter, so one of them would have surely asked if everything was hooked back up properly. I'm SO tickled for you. I was thinking about you earlier today. That's just awesome news. One of the first things my hubby and son always ask, when I say something isn't working properly is to check and see if everything is plugged in properly. Just a few weeks ago I drove for a few hours without my music because for some darn reason the Belkin thing wasn't working. When I finally stopped and looked closer, sure enough, it was fine. It just wasn't completely plugged into my iPod.

It is important to keep the software safe. If you are re-learning programming, I can advise you to read here. This article helped me a lot to protect my database from intruders who want to steal data. This helped me protect myself and not think about the problems with hacking my company's data anymore. It all depends on what kind of software you need. I want to draw your attention to the fact that the software must be licensed, so you do not have to worry that it will not work properly.
