Bleach on color removes color thus you will have to use some sort of dye to get it back to the right color.

After you remove all of the bleach and the carpet is dry trying recoloring it with RIT Dye (powder or liquid form dye that you mix yourself). Select a color as close to your carpet as you can. Follow package instructions and then put enough product into a spray bottle. Gently spray the area until the color matches the surrounding fiber. Dab and "smudge" with a dry cloth as you blend the areas to match. Allow color match to dry completely before stepping on it or vacuuming.
  • There may be a carpet store/cleaner that can dye the carpet. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is no fix for this. I am afraid if you try to dye the carpet, it will not be strong enough or even match the carpet and that could make it worse. this is a time to check out a professional, live with it, or find out how much new carpet is. sorry

If you have this carpet in a closet, then cut out pieces the same size from the bleached area and the closet and switch them. I found a video showing how to do this.

I worked in a hotel where the girls would spill bleach on the carpet by the bathroom, thankfully it was small "dot" spots. The owners were prepared to replace every single room that had said spots. I as there maintenance came up with a solution...magic markers! Now, the carpet was dark green with a few medium and light colors but for the most part, only had to worry about the green. Worked great, I was there for a year after I started using markers and was still holding up.
