Kitchen cupboard hardware

We are going to be redoing our kitchen cupboards and plan on adding hardware to the drawers and doors. My question is: Do I put drawer pulls on the false drawers under the sink?

To keep the kitchen uniform I think you should put some kind of matching hardware if not the drawer pulls.

@Merldiz Everyone has different taste But I feel this will look unfinished. I just redid my kitchen and put hardware on every cabinet working or not. Reguardless this is 2015 and traditions have changed . Just saying.
  • I got to ask, why wouldn't you? With that, yes most people do

@Thanks for your reply SLS Construction & Building Solutions LLC. I know from the home decor forums I've been on over the years, that many things are regional to some extent. I'll have to pay more attention when I travel from now on. This has gotten me very curious about this now.

I have rarely seen a drawer pull on the false front of a kitchen sink cabinet. Not in any one of the homes I've ever lived in, and I've lived in more than most, ever had a pull there. I'd say if you want a pull down storage tray for scrubbies, then add a pull, if not, then it's totally up to how you feel about it. Another idea is to put a towel rod there for wiping ones hands after washing up at the kitchen sink.

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. I'd say it is 100% personal preference. When I had my kitchen remodeled a few years ago, I elected for no pulls on the false front panel underneath the sink. To my eye it doesn't look unfinished or unbalanced but adding the same cup pulls that are on the drawers to the left would have been okay too, I suppose. Do what works for you.

If you have extra, I certainly would.

You can always go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy the kit for the false drawer fronts that allow you to pivot them forward and have trays attached to the backs so you can keep your sponges or whatever in there. They even have one that has a little post to hold your rings while you wash dishes so you don't lose them.

We actually have drawers there. They are small and pull down. They hold miscellaneous things you want to keep track of. For one, I keep an old toothbrush there to clean with. I also have the same thing in my bathrooms. Have done this since we built our first house in 1970!

@ I think like others have said it is what you prefer. The way mine are set up there are no other drawers around it, so either would work. Tape some on and see which looks better to you, with or without.

How about putting pretty hooks on them, to use for a pot holder or a tea towel?

We have some faux drawers and after years I STILL pull on them! I vote no. ;)
