Mid Century Modern Table Makeover- Modern Bird Silhouette

I found this table at a local thrift store, and fell in love with the clean modern lines. I'd say that mid century is some of my most favorite furniture styles. Unfortunately, this little beauty had some damage on the top of the table, where I think the veneer got wet or something. So, with a DIY chalk paint makeover, and a hand painted bird silhouette, it's been given a whole new lease on life.

Love the bird silhouette! I have 3 mid century pieces we inherited from the hubby 's mom. All three are blonde veneer, and the veneer is peeling off. Our 7 year old grandson loves to help it along, which isn't the safest thing to do around our 18 month old granddaughter. So I've started refinishing them by peeling off all the loose veneer, filling in with wood putty (I'd use Bondo, but it's way too cold out!), and painting with DIY chalk paint. I love the idea of adding a design to it. Thank you!
