I am so thrilled to be participating in an exciting, new, monthly challenge. This month's theme is Inspired By. I found this gorgeous industrial coffee table from World Market and knew it was the perfect inspiration piece for my new coffee table. A nice blend where farmhouse meets industrial.
I started by taking this old coffee table I found at Goodwill for $5 and deconstructed some pallets to make my new tabletop.
I cut the pallet wood down to create a staggered hardwood look for my new tabletop.
After squaring off the edges, I began cutting each board to fit the top.
I picked up some thin moulding and 1x2 boards from my local hardware store to frame the new top. This helped give it a more finished look.
Once all my boards were cut, I glued the 1x2 edge on and pinned it using a micropinner to hold it in place until the glue dried.
Using some metal corner braces I painted using hammered black spray paint I added them to the edge for a more industrial feel.
After the paint dried, I stained my tabletop and it was done! I love how our new coffee table turned out and gives me the World Market look for the budget-friendly price!
