Changing a baby's crib into something else

I have a child bed that we don't use any more, how can we transform it? Please.

take one side off put a pice of ply wood on the springs of the bed and chalk paint it for the kids to have in their room or you can raise the bed up to desk height and use in older child room as a study desk

OMG! this brings back old memories when my son outgrew his! (he's 24 yrs. old now). I've always been very creative and love the idea of giving old things a new life. So I used all the rails to hang pots n' pans. Of course I gave them a nice paint job. I also used the other side, which I cut in half, to hang delicate clothing after a wash. I didn't have a dryer at the time. Another idea is to use the rails as a shelf (making sure it has support on all 4 sides). You can put bins or any large box/item on top of them, especially if you have high ceilings. This idea is for folks who live in an apartment and lack storage space/closet space.

Saw one womans solution....she took off front of crib then turned upside down and put top on. She redid drawers to function turned over, to use for desk. On this particlar bed looks like you would have to level the arched areas. You might even be able to research and find out exactly how she did the remake as may be on hometalk site.
