A strange site to see this palm so close to the water (Pensacola Bay) in Florida.

Not surprising to see Giant Sea Oats (Chasmanthium paniculata) growing in sand (great for stablilizing dunes or as a garden plant)

I love tall grass by the beach. Since my southern California beaches did not have grasses, I dreamed of seeing it on the sand dunes of Cape Cod. I was on cloud 9 when I finally did, some 20 years ago. Love it in Florida too.

Yes that is strange, as I would think you'd find them a little farther back from the water. God works in mysterious ways. Thanks for sharing. :)

I was camping down at St George Island a few days ago and saw pines right at the waters edge.

That is an unusual sight Erica. A gardening friend of mine tells me that there is a mature palmetto palm growing near a 15 foot tall blue spruce on Oak Island in southeastern North Carolina. That is definitely an strange sight too. Keep um coming!
