I have been on the hunt for an oversized round clock to go over our home workstation. I’ve spent countless hours searching for one, but the ones I’ve found just don’t cut it. My husband suggested that I make my own… he thinks I can make anything!! I thought about it but didn’t get serious until I came across a beautiful oversized round clock on Pinterest that was posted from Gail’s blog My Repurposed Life. The project was actually orchestrated by Mindi from My Love To Create. Mindi stated that she got her inspiration from Pottery Barn, but I actually like her creation so much more.
I called my husband up and had him to meet me at Lowe’s. I didn’t want my oversized round clock to look exactly like Mindi’s, but I have to give credit where credit is due. I wanted you guys to know that I was without a doubt inspired by her.
To make an Oversized Round Clock we purchased:

36″ round stainable pine wood table top

Minwax stain in Jacobean

Large modern-style house numbers (To cut down on cost, we only purchased numbers 3, 6, 9, 1 & 2

Clock Mechanism from Hobby Lobby regularly priced $19.99 until I whipped out the 40% off coupon on my iPhone.

Foam Craft Brush

Picture Hanging Hook
This is just what I’ve been looking for, a simple yet dramatically impactful oversized round clock. I’m so glad a came across this project on My Repurposed Life, it was the fuel I needed to add to my fire.

****Note: The shaft on the clock mechanism that I purchased was not long enough to fit through the thickness of the wood. What I did was velcro’ed it to the front so that I can change the battery when needed. I found a mechanism with a longer shaft on Amazon. My husband and family say they like it as is.

What do you think? Should I order the extra long shaft or leave it as is?
