The guest enters the secrete garden along the stem, and the fern frond is the focal point of the small space. A mixture of evergreen and deciduous ferns were planted around the garden.
A secret garden, design borrowed from nature; a fern frond.

Since this design is one of a fern I would add some ferns around it...just sayin'! Love doing mosaics and designs with pavers and such. Also someone else mentioned a water feature. It would be nice too. Beautiful!

Kris, your suggestion was already done, just hard to see in the photo. The entire pathway and sitting area was planted with groupings of different ferns. If you look closely, you can see the 1 gallon ferns that are just barely around the perimeter of the area. We also discussed a small water feature, but they wanted to not have one at this time. Also, I ran into this client over the weekend and found out that they are having to move due to a fantastic job opportunity the wife received. They will be in Charleston going forward, another wonderful city.
