My back yard was almost fully fenced when I bought my house, but the fence wasn't connected to the house.

After one too many "where's the dog?" episodes, I finally closed things in. I thought a "basketweave" fence would be appropriate to my mid-century house, and I also liked the fact that it is considered a "good neighbor" fence because there isn't a "bad side." The "weave" on this type of fence is usually horizontal, but I came across a photo of a vertical weave and showed it to my contractor. Because he was building the fence he could also build the gate to match, resulting in a seamless look. I've gotten a lot of "I've never seen a fence like that" comments, and could not be happier with the result (although I predict staining it is going to be a pain in the you know what).
Gate matches fence for a seamless look.
Details of weaving.
Is it fence or is it sculpture?
