Want to add some pumpkins to your Fall Decor. Hand Paint your own on just about anything you want. Fabric, wood, tile anything. Paint away!
Start with your surface and paints, a link to all the colors I used is in the blog post tutorial. I used bottle craft acrylics for this project.
You can use scrap wood pieces as I did or paint the pumpkins on any number of things, old crates, artists canvas, tables, benches etc.
I sketched on my pattern to follow, double loaded my brush and followed the lines. The double loading adds shading and highlighting at one time.
Two double load you dip each corner of your paint brush into a darker and a lighter color and work it into the brush a bit so create a blending of colors.
Continue adding strokes until you have filled in your design. Keep the darker color up against the lighter of the previous stroke for definition. I start and work from the outside edges in.
Add your stem and then shadow along the edges of the outside if you wish to make it look more 3d.
Add a few streaks of a lighter color along the stem to create some highlights and texture.
I show you more in my blog post at Paint Orange Pumpkins
