Succulent Topped Pumpkin

I am having a love affair with succulents lately and really wanted to incorporate them into my fall decor this year. They are such hardy plants and are just about the only plant that I can seem to keep alive!
Materials Needed:

a pumpkin (I used a real one)

moss

spray adhesive

succulent cuttings

I wanted to keep this project super simple and not have to cut into a pumpkin because we all know that's a big ol' mess, so I opted to stick my succulents in moss, which holds the moisture to keep them alive.
I also wanted to keep the cost of this project to a minimum, so I pulled the moss I used off of a log in the woods behind our house.
Using spray adhesive, attach the moss to the top of the pumpkin. If you have any bald spots, just glue some small chunks of moss into those holes.

I have a few planters with succulents in them, so I mostly used cutting from those plants for my project. I did have to make a trip to the home improvement store to buy a few more though.
I simply stuck the stems of the succulent cuttings down into the moss and (gently) played around with the arrangement until I liked how it looked.

Here is the finished product...
To keep the succulents alive, you'll need to use a spray bottle and mist them once or twice a week. Then when you are done using them on top of your pumpkin in a few weeks, just pluck them out of the moss and plant them in a container!

I love it ! I just put out my Halloween decorations, and a couple of my plastic pumpkins are faded ! I think I will spray them white and use them ! Little ones would be fun for place settings for each guest ! Thanks now you got me going ! Happy Halloween and Thanksgiving !

Thank you for sharing. If I can locate some moss, I will make this centerpiece.
