Paint Stick Pumpkins

This weekend truly felt like Fall, and in between sipping hot lattes and enjoying pumpkin-flavored baked goods, I was inspired to create a fun pumpkin craft-these Paint Stick Pumpkins-to celebrate the season and being
I used 13 paint sticks to create this pumpkin. You can get paint sticks for free at your local paint store or at the paint counter at a hardware store-just ask! I laid them out until I made a shape that I thought best-resembled a pumpkin, with a few sticks staggered higher than others, and then cut the bottoms off with a compound miter saw to form a rounder shape.
I used wood glue and the scraps I'd cut to brace it across the back. Then all my pumpkin needed was a couple of coats of orange acrylic craft paint and it was ready to be displayed!
Doesn't the notched end of the paint stick make a perfect pumpkin stem!?
