I have peel and stick tiles in my kitchen. When I first put it down about 5 yrs ago it was okay . Kind of a sandy color. Now it looks dirty to me. Can I paint it with a durable paint? If so what kind?

Yes. Peel and stick tiles are vinyl. I've painted sheet vinyl and it works very well. I believe your results will be fine too. Here's what to do: 1. Super clean the floor with TSP. Rinse well. Let dry. (The TSP will also take away any shine so the primer & paint adhere better.) 2. Prime one or two coats. Oil primer will last longer but latex primer will work too. 3. Paint the floor the color of your choice. Best to use porch and floor paint but I have also used just regular latex wall paint in satin. Best of luck :-)
