A mud room needs a few minimum features to "work" for me.

    1. a easy to clean and durable floor. Tile or stained / stamped concrete.

    2. A bench to sit on to take off muddy boots and put on your fuzzy slippers

    3. coat hooks or closet type space.

Once these needs are meet additional storage or utility is gravy on top.

My vote is for the bead board treatment with all the open storage and the clean country feel. Looks like the kind of space designed for folks who really need a mud room.

Agree with KMS Woodworks - easy to clean floor and a place to sit down are essential for a mud room.

My favorite is #2 - Deluxe mudroom with open storage.

If 3 went all the way up to the ceiling, I'd pick that, but I've have to go with number 7. It goes all the way up--looks more built in and hides everything so nicely!

I love to top right with the seating and shelving and hooks. I have 3 kids so closing the doors wouldn't happen very often!!. I love the distressed look in the first one rather then the stark white.
