Goose Christmas Egg Ornaments

I shared my Egg ornaments last year !! This year I decided to step it up a notch so I went and purchased goose eggs.
Whole Goose Egg
Paint the entire outside of the egg with Mod Podge which can be found at craft stores. I usually give it at least three coats.
I chose to use pearls and gold trim for the egg alom with a green ribbon. Basically I just used a hot glue gun and decorated the whole egg! See pictures!!
Glue gun and trim !! Oh....and a patient disposition!! Lol
Last of all- you pierce the top with a needle and thread a hanging string to allow you to hang it on the tree.
This art was done by my deceased grandmother who would be 100 now. Why don't we continue to carry it on?!!! They would be pleased!!!

Not sure where I would find goose eggs. I do have a beautiful Easter egg similar to this that's 50 years old.

I love this egg! My sister-in-law and I have done this for a couple of years now. We have always used tissue paper and glue to reinforce the strength of the egg but that is so tedious. I have been looking for ways to do this that would be easier and thought of mod podge. For my grandchildren this year, I have made eggs without cutting the hole. I have decorated them with birthstone colors. They really are pretty. I would like to do more with other themes but hate doing the tissue and glue. Do you think 3-4 coats of mod podge on the outside only would give them enough strength? Would send a picture if I knew how.
