My hydrangeas are about 20 years old. They were getting huge. Then in early spring they looked like the hard winter killed them. So, I cut them way back to about a foot high. Now, they are about 5 feet high again, but I didn't have one single bloom this year! I missed bringing in fresh flowers all summer!
  • @Debbie Crowe That's what happens if you prune them. The flowers bloom on old wood! After a harsh Winter like last year, they can take longer to come back, so just be patient. Those leaves and flowers will travel up to the tops of those dead looking sticks, you just have to give them a little time!
