Yes It is available at hardware stores. About $280.00 take the incoming hot from the wall and use it for the incoming water source for the under counter water heater. That way when the hot water gets there from the water heater the water heater under the sink will stop using electricity. No water waste that way.

We wanted to install this type of water heater but, we have a problem with hard water deposits that are more prevalent with hot water than cold water. So we have, unfortunately, lost a lot of water waiting for hot water to run! So, what option is left to overcome this situation?

I agree about that waxy slimy feeling with soft water, just doesn't have the "squeaky clean" feeling I am used to. The distance to the sink isn't much but, the distance to the master bath is. Thank you Becky!!

We had a tankless water heater system and water softner but my husband also installed a small under the sink hot water heater for the kitchen. Not sure whether he bought it on line or at a hardware store.Good luck!
