Dated Fireplace Makeover - Amazing Transformation On A Small Budget

Have you discovered the power of paint? It's amazing! All it took to update and freshen our twenty year old red brick fireplace with oak wood trim and brass fireplace screen was one gallon of white semi gloss latex paint and a quart of high temperature black paint. Take a look at the before and after's and see if you don't agree that it is quite the transformation.
AFTER - The fireplace makeover totally changed the feel of the entire room!
BEFORE - The red brick fireplace, oak wood trim and brass fireplace screen.
All it took was one gallon of semi gloss white latex paint and one quart of black high temperature paint to give the fireplace a totally new look.
Even our dog loves the freshened up look of the room now.
A high ceiling calls for large accessories on the mantel.

How did you paint your wood grain trim? Did you remove it from the walls? I know this was another project but it greatly improves the overall look of the room. Love the whole package! Great job!

In a word--- GORGEOUS! I love painted brick fireplaces and yours is a beautiful example of how it can lighten, brighten and update a room. Painting all the trim white also is wonderful and makes the room look so new! (Now....if I could just get more of my clients to see how painting their tired old fireplace and sad old stained trim is a good idea!....LOL!)
