I would like to create a sunrise or sunset on painters drop cloths to hang on a wall. Has anyone used this on fabric? Any tips if you have. Thanks.

As far as I know this is a new process that is used for wood. It is a gel stain and sealer in one.

@Janet Pizaro I have the complete set of Unicorn Spit paints and have used it on many surfaces. Maybe you should do more research.....

I wouldn't. Just because it IS a gel stain, and I wouldn't use gel (or regular) stain on fabric. I would stick with paint. Of course you could do a sample on a piece of scrap fabric and see what you think.

There are paints made especially for fabric. Usually the craft paint has an additive that you can add to the paint, to make it okay to use on fabric. The gel stain is not for fabric, and may seep out beyond the intended drawing, wasting your fabric. I agree with the lady's suggestion, to try a small area first, if you insist on using the gel stain.

You could probably put a sealer on the drop cloth to keep the stain from bleeding. Otherwise it would probably be like painting a water color. Could be pretty to see where the stain ran. Do a couple different test then post them for us to see.

I agree that you should test it first, but as long as you don't plan to ever wash it, why not ?
