My fiance (a HUGE DIY'er) and I replaced the carpet with REAL Hardwood floors this fall.

We purchased the wood, underlayment, tools and trim pieces from Floor and Decor outlet in Roswell. The kind folks at "F & D" were VERY knowledgeable about their products and we're very happy with the results! I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as we enjoy our new floors!

Eco Quiet Underlayment - recommended by F & D. It makes a HUGE difference when it comes to sound!

Wow looks like he did a great job. I love the house too, is the fireplace makeover next?

The floors look great! I love hearing DIY stories like this. A lot of sweat equity went into, but you'll get a return on your investment and saved a lot of money on installation. NICE!

I am thinking of doing the same thing to my living room and dining room soon. Even the stairs. Not a fan of carpeting, especially in a dining room or stairs. It does look very nice though! Great job!

Thank you all so much! Next, we're painting the den (hate the dark green walls!) and yes, a fireplace makeover! :)

Thanks, Harold - Yes. You need to open the boxes and let the wood acclimate for about 3 full days before you start installing. Thanks, Faidra!

Looks great. Love hardwood floors. You should get many years of happiness out of these floors.
