Uses for repurposed barn boards

Suzanne
by Suzanne
We salvaged several pieces of wall and doors from the dairy barn where my family grew up. I need simple DIY projects to surprise the rest of my family with for the holidays. Signs are great, but I'm looking for something a bit more unique. Any suggestions? Pieces are all tongue and grove built doors (some with hardware) about 4'-5' long by 3' wide.

If I were you, I'd use them to make coat racks or jewelry hangers. Would be very simple and fast. You could stain/paint the wood or simply leave it as is and then attach decorative knobs or hangers. Hobby Lobby has a great selection of them.

Use a door for a headboard. I have a post about it here. Also I would love to put sliding barn doors in my home if they would look good for that type of project. Even a table would be great. Sounds exciting!

I have no doubt that a quick search here, on google or Pinterest will yield more ideas than you can handle, lol. I managed to salvage the entire bunk house door from my grandparents ranch, along with the sign that hung over the main gate - I put them on the front of our garage. They are so special to me. We haven't gotten around to doing anything with the remaining scrap pieces with the exception of hubby making a frame. I hung it by our front door and change it up seasonally....will put some pics below. Have fun! Old barn wood is the best, especially sentimental pieces :)

Nothing is more simple than taking a piece of board and adding door knobs or even round or square cabinet pulls. I have one done with the larger door knobs.
