Acrylic paint for outdoor use?

I'm not much of a DIYer, although just recently I've been making some holiday pallet signs. I have some left over acrylic craft paint and am wondering if it would hold up if I used it on a sign to be used outside.

You would need to cover it with a sealer of some sort. I do quite a bit of painting with acrylics and learned the hard way. Now I always have a spray can of satin clear on hand!

I would use a clear spray varnish that is made for outside.

If they sell in the States use Patio Paint. It works wonderfully and lasts for years.

The sealer seems to work well over the acrylic paint, do watch though, the sealer softens the paint temporarily, I now cover the work with a coat or two of acrylic gloss first , then two coats of clear gloss or clear enamel. This help in extreme weather too.

Yes it's called Patio Paint. It's made in the USA and it works wonderfully. I painted a bird bath a few years ago and never bring it out of the elements and its still going strong. The web site on the bottle shows www.decoart.com. Good Luck
