How to use hard book covers

After making book page wreaths, I have the hard book covers left. Any suggestions on what to do with them before I throw them away?

Search "book covers" on Etsy and see what crafters are doing with them. I have made book marks using the spines. Would love to see a photo of your wreath!

I recently saw a bird house made with book covers. They used one book cover for the roof and then others for the sides.

I have seen them covering a plastic vhs case. This turns them into a hidden safe where you can hide things.

I've seen books hollowed out to make a safe hiding place for small valuables. Maybe you can do the same with Styrofoam cut to fit and hollowed out in the same manner. Treat the insides like a jewelry box,and use it to store flash drives with important documents on them. (Insurance policies, tax records, etc...) Decide what you want to store, then build around it. Form follows function. Leather straps with latches can be attached to the outside to keep them closed. Placed on a bookshelf with other books, no one will know your secret.

I find all kinds of great ideas on Etsy. One talented individual makes clocks out of old book covers. The search engine is great, too.

You could make pocketbooks out of them. I have seen them. Just google pictures of pocketbooks made out of hardcover books. You could also make photo frames that stand up on your end tables etc. instead of ones that hang on the wall.
