Kitchen Remodel

Total kitchen overhaul! We bought our house about 5 years ago. I wouldn't really call it a fixer-upper, but I would say that it needed some major updating. The people who loved there before us thought it was a good idea to paint the ceilings odd colors and loved vinyl flooring. The kitchen in my house is huge and was the first thing that needed our attention.
With the exception of the counter tops, my husband and I did the entire renovation ourselves (with the help of my handy father). Here's what we did:
I painted the walls and the ceilingMy husband laid the slate floorsWe replaced the knobs on the cabinetsInstalled a new backsplash from LowesInstalled a new sink and granite counter topsInstalled a pendulum light above sinkReplaced the hideous ceiling lightBought new appliances from Samsung
I love my new kitchen! I am not the best cook in the world, but I am learning. In fact, I cooked bacon for the first time in my life at the age of 33. I hope this post inspires you to tackle that big project you've been putting off.
