Are Moreton Bay fig trees ok to plant in Victoria?

I, personally, don't think they would do very well as they are native to the tropics and Victoria is so far South. There are some other lovely trees you could plant that are native to that area. Go to the Dandenong and see what grows there and get some ideas as it is so beautiful and lush there,.with trees native to the Victoria.
