Faux Moulding for Dummies
No math required to make this faux molding- just work with the width of painter's tape!

It took several hours to complete this, but the end result was so worth it.
You can either paint your door (or wall) the color of the moulding and then tape off the outline and repaint the door (or wall) color. Or you can do it inversely, which is what I did.
2 strips of Scotch Blue tape made a 4 inch outline around the door, 1 inch Frog Tape brought it in another inch. No need to take measurements, just check you are level each time you add tape.
