What Do You Do With Scrap Wood, Build a Reindeer Of Course!

Hands down my favorite Christmas decoration to date! The reindeer was inspired by the urge to have one on my porch and not wanting to pay the horrific prices everywhere I looked. Plus I am pretty sure it looks way better than the see through light up ones
I had a ton of wood laying around from other projects that went perfect for this guy but you can always stop by your local lumber yard and pick up pieces to make your own. The main body is about 1 inch thick board that was left over from building a chicken coop. The tummy is a piece of thin board with 3 pallet boards nailed onto it. Legs are spindles left over from a porch job and the ears antlers and tail is the thin board. Home Depot sales these boards in different sizes.
Start by cutting out your pattern. Since he is so big (you can tell from my hand) I drew him free hand. Even if you are not an artist I think it is a pretty simple shape that anyone can master!
I cut out all of the pieces and stained them dark walnut.
I attached everything using a nail gun, but you can use screws if you don't have a nail gun (this thing is used daily at my shop! total time saver)
He needs a name! Perfect decor for your front porch or in front of Santa's Sleigh!! To see the full tutorial stop by my blog!
