The Completely Doable And "I Love It!" Look Of Pairing Antiques With Modern Furniture Styles

Pairing antiques with modern furniture styles is completely doable. Contemporary, urban or traditional fit in the mix, too. If you do not already know, I am an antique dealer. I appreciate, admire, and generally love antique furnishings and most periods of furniture. Do I have antique furniture in my own home? Yes! Only antique furniture? No! Where's the fun in that? I like, suggest, encourage, and admire the look created when furniture styles and periods mix and mingle in complementing harmony.

  • Thank you, Jeanette. Although some vintage pieces and even antique pieces are prime for painting, the beauty of classic period pieces is the finish of the wood itself.
  • I agree with @Jeanette S, classic never goes out of style! Classic pieces from different periods are so easy to blend because they have similar details or features. ~M
