DIY Mitten Art With Buttons

I have loads of vintage buttons that belonged to my grandmother. Rather than keep them in an old can where they've resided for years and years, I decided to use a selection of them to create mitten art that I can use to decorate my home for Christmas and for the winter.
The snowflake buttons are modern but the rest are vintage. The cuff is from a sweater that I planned to donate to Goodwill. This framed art is going to be enjoyed in my home until March.

A mitten template is easy to find online and bags of buttons can easily be ordered if you aren't lucky enough to have a vintage supply like I do.
I started by gluing the sweater cuff to felt that I glued to a picture frame backing. Buttons were then glued into place following the mitten template.
