Color Washing Chairs With A Chalky Paint

B
by B
Washing can be accomplished by thinning paint with water-
I purchased these vintage maple chairs. They were already primed and had to be sanded. It wasn't necessary to prime and sand because I used chalk type paint.
I chose Alaskan Tundra for the chair on the left and Chateau Gray for the chair on the right. These are chalk type paint colors from CeCe Caldwell and Annie Sloan.
The chair painted with Alaskan Tundra received a color wash of Duck Egg blue. A wash is paint thinned with water.
Brushing the wash color changes the chair completely.
The chateau Gray chair received a color wash of Country Gray.
Once again, a change in color. Just thin the paint to your preference. I use a dry brush to apply the wash.
