My husband and I just started a project in our kitchen...a backsplash.. simple...no!!! Now we have found a demonic glue impossible to remove...that (silicone?) was placed in "dots" and was holding the trim at the back of the counter top...please help me find out how to remove it....
Please check the white dots...it just don't go anywhere

Have you tried a blow dryer on high for 30 seconds on a dot to see if it loosens it enough to scrape off: Worth a try.

Is it caulking or liquid nails? The removal process is probably going to be determined by the nature of what the 'dots' are. Check the LiquidNails.com http://www.liquidnails.com/en-US/tips/removing-construction-adhesives scroll down a little to 'removing from building materials'. It calls for 'music wire'. I think it's available on Amazon but I didn't confirm.

Steam should soften it up enough so you can scrap it off with a putty knife.

I had to use an electric sander when that awful glue based grout was used on my backsplash tiles...and I had to rip all the tiles out as I couldn't get it off the face of the tiles either. I took the whole backsplash back to Lowe's and got my money back for the whole project/materials...I was furious...two weeks of working on it and pfffffttttt.!

if it was the back board that matched the counter {typical formica on pressboard} then it is most likely dots of Liquid Nails adhesive. It can be softened with a heat gun or good blow dryer {heat to 140*} then scraped off

Use a regular steam iron such as for ironing clothes. I didn't want to ruin mine so went to good will. Use steam a lot as you iron. I used that to get up those awful glue down tiles off floor! WORKS!
