I've had great luck on EBay! Go to the jewelry category & look under vintage. Also check out wholesale lots or repair in the same category!

Thrift stores, garage sales, and I have even asked that the local thrift stores hold back jewelry for an hour before they put it out for sale. I agreed to to be there within an hour and they seemed happy to do this for me. I got only one store to agree but its better than none. also let all your friends know you are in search of this stuff. You would be amazed how much everyone has sitting in their jewelry boxes because maybe it hneed a riong or a pin glued but they just done want to through away. good luck to you hope you can find what your looking for.

Try estate sales, second hand stores, garage sales. Also try any stores that are near an opera/play house, or benefit the local arts......

Bad59,, my best friend and I make and sell beautiful jewelry trees. It takes a lot of supplies in the way of jewelry so you have to always be on the look out. It also takes time to locate. All the suggestions here are great. We have the most success with EBAY and ETSY overall. You want to buy in lots, broken and vintage pieces. I also have passed the word around to friends and family as well as my husband does this as well. I have come by broken merchandise from an antiques and gift store owner that will collect and give to me. You would be surprised at how once you spread the word, jewelry boxes open up (not really, just sounded good!). But really, a friend who used to make jewelry years gone by gave me odds and ends, my sister works in a store and she collects broken unsaleable items for me. Keep on the hunt! Much success to you!

I find costume jewelry at Flea markets, Antique & Junk stores, Thrift stores, Goodwill and stores similar to Goodwill stores, Yard sales, Estate auctions, Ebay, Etsy, and church bazaars. Most of the old jewelry I buy is from antique & junk stores and thrift stores.
