Dingy White Tree Tree Spray Painted Black

by Roxanne
This old and dingy white tree was going to be thrown away, but I volunteered to take it. That was 5 years ago. It had been stored in a box, and was really pitiful looking when I ran across it in storage. I scoured Pinterest for ideas...and decided to spray paint it black. I am very traditional so this was a hard decision--but hey, it was free, so I wouldn't be out anything but 6 cans of black spray paint from our local dollar store...and a little time! I decided to use a planter we weren't using anymore, and sprayed it silver. I am pleased with how it turned out.
Before
Almost finished spraying!
We brought it inside and my husband stabilized it in the planter. I had a glass top pedestal I used to sit it on in my foyer.
Added lights
I used silver and white mesh, and silver and white decorations that I already had on hand. Done!
If you look really closely, you can see that some of the white didn't get painted, but it looks fine with the decorations.
I am pleased with how it turned out!

Will the spraypaint stay or will it flake off eventually?

It is lovely but, like others, I wonder why black instead of green.

did you also paint the urn silver? Did you use a semi-gloss, matte,or satin black paint? and did you put any black ornaments on the tree?
