Crocheted Pot Scrubby Pattern

I asked my readers what they would love to see in the future on my website. And I had so many wonderful suggestions. This week, I am creating one of those suggestions! Vicki said:
The one thing I am trying to learn to crochet again to make IF I ever locate instructions is for a scrubby pad. My husband’s grandmother made them to give to all the women each year at Thanksgiving but I never thought to ask if she would write down how she made them exactly and now she’s gone sadly.
I do love a challenge.

I’m not sure if these are exactly how Vicki remembers them, but these are my version of crocheted pot scrubbies made from nylon netting.

They make fabulous handmade gifts! I plan on adding them to gift bags along with measuring spoons, cooking utensils, pot holders and a recipe book.

I purchased about a yard of netting. You can find it in all colors in the fabric store. Begin by cutting the netting into 1″ strips. Since the netting was a bit difficult to work with, I used a ruler to judge the one inch mark and then cut it into strips that were approximately 1″ wide.

Use any size crochet hook (I used size G), and start by chaining four. (Check my website for the free crochet pattern).

As you get to the end of each strip, simply tie on a new strip and keep the knot to the back.

Working the pattern, your pot scrubby becomes bowl shaped and then you decrease to make the back.

Tie off and push all ends inside. And there you have it!

Make a whole bunch. They are fabulous for scrubbing and make wonderful little gifts! You can find the full pattern on my website!

why can't i just print a copy of the pattern for the crochet scrubbie???? your site is very hard to figure out..... I have been trying to just get simple instructions for over an hour..... thanks but no thanks...

Every few years, I have to make my daughters each one!! Yours look so much better!!! I'm going to make them your way!!!

I've made these but the netting is so rough on my skin. Do you have that problem? It takes weeks for my hands to heal after I make a batch.
